Description

A gnarled pine with a twisting dark trunk leans in from the left, its dense green crown set against a glowing yellow-gold sky. Beyond it, across a band of pale blue water, the silhouette of Antibes rises on its promontory, small and hazy in the distance, while golden-green bushes and scrub fill the middle ground and a tiny figure stands among them on the right.

The whole scene is bathed in warm evening light, yellows and violets blended with soft, broken strokes to suggest the glow of dusk over the Mediterranean coast. The twisted pine acts as a natural frame, drawing the eye out toward the distant town.
