Description
Deux femmes en robes rouges, esquisse (1895) is an unfinished study of two women wrapped in loose red robes. One leans forward with her chin resting on her hand, dark hair piled up, while a second woman with reddish hair bends beside her, only partly worked in.
Renoir leaves much of the lower canvas bare or roughly blocked in cream and pale strokes, the vivid red of the robes standing out against a warm orange ground, a glimpse of the painter building up a composition.
This work is available as a hand-painted oil reproduction on artist-grade canvas or as an archival giclee canvas print, made to order in the size of your choice, available framed or unframed, and shipped worldwide.
