Description
A narrow dirt path cuts through dense green foliage, with two small figures, an adult in a pale dress and a child at her side, walking together in the sunlit clearing ahead. A red-roofed cottage is just visible through the trees near the top of the canvas.
Touches of orange-red wildflowers dot the undergrowth along the path’s edges, and Renoir’s quick, dabbed brushwork turns the leaves and grass into a shimmering screen of green and gold that nearly swallows the two walkers. The path draws the eye inward toward the small house glimpsed in the distance.
Two Figures on a Path (Deux figures dans un sentier), painted in 1906 and held by the Barnes Foundation, is offered as a hand-painted oil reproduction on canvas or as an archival giclee canvas print, made to order in a range of sizes and ready to hang.
