Description
Three nude women with auburn hair gather in a sunlit, wooded clearing rendered almost entirely in warm oranges, golds, and pinks. One sits with her back to the viewer in the center foreground, her rounded form dominating the canvas, while a second figure at left appears to comb or gather the hair of a companion, and a third sits further back among the golden foliage.
Patterned drapery in white and rust tones is bunched beneath the seated figures, and the dense, glowing brushwork merges the women’s flesh tones with the surrounding leaves so that figures and landscape seem to melt into one another, typical of Renoir’s late style.
Three Bathers, painted in 1918 and held by the Museum of Modern Art, Saitama, is offered as a hand-painted oil reproduction on canvas or as an archival giclee canvas print, made to order in a range of sizes and ready to hang.
