Description

In the foreground a young girl in a pale lavender-white dress moves through a bank of flowering shrubs, one arm reaching toward the blossoms, her loose fair hair catching the light. Behind her, set further back and to the right, a small group of figures gathers on a flowered terrace above the sea: one figure in white raises a garland overhead while others, lightly draped or bare-shouldered, sit and stand nearby among the greenery.

The scene is painted with a soft, hazy touch, colors dissolving into one another so that the figures in the background read more as impressions of movement and celebration than as sharply defined individuals. A pale strip of sea and sky closes the composition, and the whole canvas is built from a light palette of lavenders, greens, and warm flesh tones.

What is offered here is not the original but a faithful reproduction: a hand-painted oil version on canvas, recreated stroke by stroke by a professional painter, or an archival canvas print made with fade-resistant pigment inks, available in a range of sizes to suit any wall.

The craft

The oil edition of this Renoir artwork is painted by hand on canvas. A canvas art print reproduces the image in ink, with the brushmarks visible in the picture rather than raised paint.

  • Oil editions painted individually by studio artists
  • Canvas prints reproduce the image on canvas
  • Individually quality-inspected before it leaves the studio
  • Made to order in your chosen size and presentation

Materials & Care

Materials

The oil reproduction is painted on cotton canvas; the art print is printed on canvas. Rolled canvas arrives without a stretcher. Stretched canvas is mounted on a wooden stretcher frame; thin and thick frames are separate presentation choices.

On request, the studio provides a certificate for your hand-painted reproduction; it certifies the studio's work, not an original by the artist.

Care

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid cleaning products, prolonged direct sunlight and damp conditions.

Sizing

Choose a size and presentation in the options above. Both editions keep the original image proportions.
