Description
A tree-lined path recedes into the distance beneath an arching canopy of yellow-green leaves. Tall, slender trunks line both sides of the lane, their bark rendered in cool greys and browns, while dappled sunlight breaks through in patches of pale blue and gold higher up in the foliage.
Far down the path, a small dark-clothed figure walks alone through the greenery, giving scale to the towering trees and quiet, shaded stillness of the scene.
Painted in 1872 and now in the Museum Barberini, Shaded Path captures Renoir’s early Impressionist eye for dappled outdoor light. This reproduction is available as a hand-painted oil copy on canvas or an archival canvas print, made to order in a range of sizes and ready to hang.
