Description
Seamstress at Window shows a dark-haired young woman in profile, bent over a piece of mending held gently in both hands. She wears a loose cream blouse and sits beside a window where a vase of pink flowers catches the light, with a red tablecloth glowing warmly in the foreground.
Painted in 1909 and now in the New Orleans Museum of Art, the canvas measures 64.5 by 54.5 centimetres and bathes the whole interior in soft golden brown tones, the woman’s concentrated pose lit gently from the window at her side.
This portrait is reproduced as a hand-painted oil copy on canvas or as an archival canvas print, made to order in your choice of size and shipped ready to hang.
