Description
Two trees with rounded, golden olive crowns stand in an open, sunlit field near Cros de Cagnes, one large at the left and a smaller echo of it further right. Between them, a scatter of small white houses with red roofs sits low against a pale blue mountain, under a wide sky brushed in blue and white with a faint pale disc of sun.
The grass in the foreground is built up in short, energetic strokes of green, yellow, and ochre, giving the whole scene a warm, open air feeling typical of the views Renoir painted in the countryside around Cagnes in his final years.
The painting is part of the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw. What is offered here is not that original but a faithful reproduction: a hand-painted oil version on canvas, recreated stroke by stroke by a professional painter, or an archival canvas print made with fade-resistant pigment inks, available in a range of sizes from close to the original small study up to a larger wall feature.
