Description

A reclining nude woman fills this wide canvas, stretched across white drapery and pillows with her head tipped back and one arm raised behind it. Her pale skin is modeled in soft rose and cream tones, set off by a length of white cloth draped loosely across her hip.

Behind her, a dark, textured green ground and a gold-patterned bolster frame the figure, their loose crosshatched brushwork contrasting with the smoother handling of her body. The long, low format draws the eye across the full length of the reclining pose.
