Description
Girl with Pink Bonnet is a close portrait of a young girl with long, loose brown hair falling past her shoulders. She wears a straw bonnet trimmed with a soft pink ruffle at the crown, and holds a pale pink cloth clasped in both hands beneath her chin. Her gaze drifts downward and to the side, giving the pose a quiet, thoughtful mood.
Renoir paints the face with smooth, blended strokes that model the cheeks and lips in warm pink and cream tones, while the hair and bonnet are built up with looser, more textured brushwork. A soft blue background surrounds the figure, keeping all the attention on the girl’s face and the pale pink accents of her bonnet and cloth.
Painted in 1894 and held at the Barnes Foundation, the canvas measures 41.5 by 33 centimetres. We reproduce it as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival print, offered in a range of sizes to suit a small wall or a larger display.
