Description
A wide, sun-dappled tree dominates the left side of this landscape, its trunk twisting upward before spreading a canopy of branches across the sky. Beneath it, two small figures in pale dresses stroll along a sandy path, one holding a parasol, while further off the sea opens up between the trees, dotted with the white sails of small boats. Painted in 1892 at Noirmoutier on France’s Atlantic coast, the scene captures the loose, breezy brushwork Renoir favored for his outdoor studies. The painting is held today by the Barnes Foundation and measures 65.5 by 81 centimeters.
This wall-art reproduction reproduces the dappled light and layered greens of the original as a museum-quality canvas or fine-art print, made to order in a choice of sizes and finishes so the scene can bring the feel of a coastal grove into a living room, hallway, or study.
