Description
A pyramid of blushing peaches, their skins brushed in strokes of rose, cream and gold, rises from a blue-and-white porcelain bowl at the center of this abundant still life. In front of the bowl, on a crisp white cloth, Renoir scatters a green pear, two red-streaked apples and a second pear, their stems catching stray highlights. Behind the fruit, a richly patterned red-and-gold tapestry curls and glows, turning the whole table into a small feast of color.
Painted in 1881 and now held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Still Life with Peaches can be recreated as a hand-painted oil reproduction on canvas or as an archival canvas print, produced to order in the size that suits your wall and shipped ready to hang.
