Description
Portrait of Mademoiselle Legrand shows a young girl with a mass of curling reddish-blonde hair, a blue ribbon threaded through it and a matching blue bow at her throat above a small gold pendant. She stands with hands clasped in front of her, a black pinafore buttoned over a full white blouse, set against a heavy blue curtain and a strip of floral wallpaper. Renoir painted her in 1875, a work now held by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, working her loose curls and blouse in soft, feathery strokes.
This museum-quality reproduction, made to order on canvas or fine-art paper, keeps that direct, wide-eyed gaze and rich blue drapery equally at home in a nursery or a family hallway.
