Description

Climbing flowers in soft pink and green fill the lower half of the canvas, framing a hazy glimpse of pale buildings and water beyond, seen between two tall, dark cypress-like trunks. The whole distant view dissolves into loose touches of cream, blue and gold.

The composition works like a window through greenery, dense and detailed close up, soft and atmospheric further back, a garden view built as much from what is planted in front as from what lies beyond it.
