Description

A heavyset, balding man with a dark beard leans over a cluttered table, holding up a small white statuette to examine it closely in profile. Dressed in a dark suit with a white collar and a small flower in his buttonhole, he studies the figure with quiet concentration, his large hands gently cradling it.

The table before him is scattered with more small sculptures and a blue and white porcelain vase, painted in loose, textured strokes that suggest the collector’s cluttered world of objects. Behind him, a warm, rough-textured wall in deep red and burnt orange fills most of the background, giving the portrait an intense, glowing warmth.

This portrait is reproduced as a museum-quality giclee print on canvas or fine-art paper, its deep reds and the sculptural white of the statuette calibrated to keep both areas rich and legible, ready to hang.

The craft

The oil edition of this Renoir artwork is painted by hand on canvas. A canvas art print reproduces the image in ink, with the brushmarks visible in the picture rather than raised paint.

  • Oil editions painted individually by studio artists
  • Canvas prints reproduce the image on canvas
  • Individually quality-inspected before it leaves the studio
  • Made to order in your chosen size and presentation

Materials & Care

Materials

The oil reproduction is painted on cotton canvas; the art print is printed on canvas. Rolled canvas arrives without a stretcher. Stretched canvas is mounted on a wooden stretcher frame; thin and thick frames are separate presentation choices.

On request, the studio provides a certificate for your hand-painted reproduction; it certifies the studio's work, not an original by the artist.

Care

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid cleaning products, prolonged direct sunlight and damp conditions.

Sizing

Choose a size and presentation in the options above. Both editions keep the original image proportions.
