Description

La Ferme des Collettes shows a sunlit farmhouse almost swallowed by dense, leafy trees, its pale ochre walls and small arched windows glimpsed through gaps in the foliage. A shaded path curves toward the building, dabbed with warm patches of light and cool blue shadow, while patches of open sky show through the canopy above. Painted in 1915 and held at the musee Renoir, this is a view of the farm at Les Collettes near Cagnes-sur-Mer where the artist spent his last years.
