Description
This sheet gathers several studies of trees on a single page, worked mostly in pencil with touches of watercolor. A cluster of leafy branches is rendered in fine pencil outline at lower left, while beside it a small tree bursts into color, warm orange and yellow autumn foliage set against patches of teal green. At the top of the sheet a single tree trunk is sketched in blue and brown, and a light green ribbon shape is dashed off in the lower right corner.
The page reads as working notes rather than a finished picture, quick pencil contours next to loose washes of color, the kind of study Renoir used to observe how foliage caught the light before working it into a larger canvas.
This study is offered as a hand-painted oil reproduction or as an archival canvas print, made to order in the size of your choice.
