Description
This small, thickly painted study shows a standing nude figure rendered in warm rose and pink tones, her hair a loose mass of golden blond brushstrokes. A swath of blue drapery is visible beside her, and a pale cloth is suggested at her feet.
The paint is applied in heavy, visible strokes across the tiny canvas, with a loosely brushed green background, giving the work the immediate, exploratory feel of a working study rather than a finished portrait.
Painted in 1882 and held by the National Gallery of Art, Small Study for a Nude is offered as a hand-painted oil reproduction on canvas or an archival canvas print, made to order in a range of sizes and ready to hang.
