Description
A full-figured nude woman sits in an armchair, her dark hair pinned up with a small pink flower tucked behind one ear. A loosely draped ivory and cream patterned shawl falls open across her shoulders and pools in her lap, leaving her torso bare, while her feet, in dark blue slippers, are tucked beneath her. She looks out to the side with a calm, unhurried expression.
Behind her, a greenish-gold curtain and the corner of a low table dissolve into loose, warm brushwork, giving the room a soft, sunlit glow typical of Renoir’s late odalisque studies.
Painted in 1918 and held today by the Barnes Foundation, this Seated Odalisque (Odalisque assise) is available as a hand-painted oil reproduction on canvas or as an archival canvas print, made to order in a range of sizes and ready to hang.
