Description
Portrait of Jeanne Durand-Ruel shows a young girl standing before a wallpaper scattered with small roses, her off-the-shoulder white striped bodice cinched by a wide green sash, hands clasped loosely at her waist. Her auburn hair is caught up with a blue ribbon, a thin blue cord and small cross at her throat, and her full white skirt falls over dark buttoned boots. Renoir painted her in 1876, a work now held by the Barnes Foundation, building the floral ground from soft dabs of pink, green and grey.
This museum-quality reproduction, made to order on canvas or fine-art paper, brings that fresh, springlike palette to a girl’s bedroom or a soft-toned hallway.
