Description

A bearded man sits at ease in a wicker armchair, one leg crossed over the other, dressed in an elaborate embroidered jacket and matching breeches covered in swirling gold braid. A black fur cap sits on his head and an orange scarf shows at his open collar.

His bare lower legs and black slippers stretch out toward the viewer, and a heavy gold-toned cloak drapes over the arm of the chair behind him, the whole figure set against a plain warm ochre wall decorated with a single carved rosette.
