Description
A village of terracotta roofs and pale chalk outcrops nestles in a valley, glimpsed through the branches of two dark olive-brown trees standing in the foreground. A tiny figure in yellow moves along a path in the middle distance, dwarfed by the rolling gold and green hills around it.
Painted at La Roche-Guyon on the Seine, the picture uses the framing trees to pull the eye down into the sunlit valley, warm gold and green fields set off by chalky white rock and a scatter of red roofs below.
Reproduced as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival canvas print, at its original 46 by 56 centimeters or scaled to any size, framed or unframed.
