Description
Pierre-Auguste Renoir curls a nude woman on her side with her back to the viewer, one arm bent behind her head, resting on white and blue drapery with a swath of red fabric spread beneath her. Behind her, a coastal landscape opens out: green shrubs and trees, a band of blue sea, distant hills, and a soft cloudy sky. Painted in 1887 at 21 by 32 centimeters, the work is held at the Princeton University Art Museum.
