Description

Renoir paints a young woman seated in a lavender dress with a black bow at her collar and a row of black buttons down the bodice, cinched by a gold buckle at the waist. Her hands rest together in her lap, one wearing a small ring, resting on a dark lace shawl draped over the skirt.

Gold drop earrings frame her face beneath a matching lavender headband. Behind her, a dim, dark interior gives way to a rounded green chair back, the only strong color note beside her dress.
