Description

A woman in a long orange skirt and blue jacket stands on a grassy slope beneath a screen of feathery trees, while three more figures sit close together in the shade just behind her. Light breaks through a gap in the canopy directly above the standing woman, picking her out from the surrounding green.

The four figures are worked loosely, more presence than portrait, while the trees around them are built up in dense, layered strokes of green, gold and touches of violet shadow.
