Description
Bathers with Crab, painted in 1890, gathers several nude women on a rocky, grassy shore beneath a leaning tree, the sea and sky spreading blue behind them. One figure reaches down toward a small reddish crab held out by another, while a third sits with her back to the viewer, wrapping white drapery around her legs. Loose swathes of white and burnt orange cloth are scattered among the group, and Renoir builds the whole scene from soft, rounded forms. The painting is held by the Carnegie Museum of Art.
This reproduction is available as a museum-quality canvas or fine-art print, made to order in a range of sizes for a bedroom, hallway, or living space.
The pale flesh tones, sea blues, and touches of burnt orange drapery reproduce with the same soft, sunlit warmth as the original.
