Description
A nude woman lies asleep on a white cloth spread over rocky ground, her head resting against a bundle of rose-pink drapery. One arm is bent up behind her head while the other stretches down along her body, resting on the cloth beneath her.
Behind her, a rocky, green-covered shoreline gives way to a calm blue sea meeting a pale sky with a single soft cloud, evoking a warm, still afternoon by the water.
Painted in 1897 and held today in the Museum collection Am Römerholz, Sleeping by the sea is offered as a hand-painted oil reproduction on canvas or an archival canvas print, made to order in a range of sizes and ready to hang.
