Description
Large grey and blue-veined boulders push up through a tangle of green scrub, framed by a scatter of small trees along a low ridge above. Terracotta orange earth shows through the greenery in the path and gaps between the rocks, under a pale, hazy sky.
Painted on the rugged Brittany coast, the picture is built almost entirely from rock, scrub and earth, with no water or sea visible at all, an inland record of the same stony ground Renoir also painted at the coastline nearby.
Reproduced as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival canvas print, in a range of sizes, framed or unframed.
