Description

Tall, feathery trees arch overhead, framing a small clearing where several women in pale dresses rest on the grass while one stands apart in a straw hat and a long orange skirt. Dappled light falls through the canopy onto warm green and yellow grass below.

The composition is built almost entirely from foliage, sky glimpsed only in narrow gaps between the branches, with the standing woman’s orange skirt the single strongest note of colour against all the surrounding green.
