Description
A cluster of riverside trees leans over a pale blue stretch of water, their leaves touched with autumn gold and rust alongside the summer green, painted in loose watercolor washes over faint pencil lines. Rolling salmon pink hills close the view on the right.
Made at Argenteuil on the Seine, the sketch keeps everything transparent and quick, the white of the paper left bare in the sky and water so the colour reads as light rather than solid form.
Reproduced as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival canvas print, translating the watercolor’s light into a finished wall piece, in a range of sizes, framed or unframed.
