Description
Lise in a White Shawl, painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1872, shows a young woman with a lace shawl draped over her hair and shoulders, one hand raised to hold it closed at her chest. Gold hoop earrings show beneath the lace, and a flash of orange-red fabric appears at her sleeve against her dark dress.
Renoir sets the figure against a deep, textured teal-green background, so that the pale lace and warm flesh tones of the face and hand read as the brightest passage in the picture. The original, measuring 56 by 46 cm, is held at the Dallas Museum of Art.
This work is offered as a museum-quality reproduction, printed on canvas or fine art paper in a range of sizes, with a frame preview shown before you order.
