Description
The Children of Martial Caillebotte, painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1895, shows two young girls seated close together on a white sofa, absorbed in a picture book spread across their laps. One girl, her curly hair tied with a red ribbon, leans her head against the other, who wears a white dress with pink trim.
Both children wear dark leather boots that stand out sharply against the pale sofa, and a large potted palm rises behind them, its fronds framing the scene. The original, measuring 65 by 81 cm, shows Renoir’s warm, affectionate handling of childhood subjects.
This work is offered as a museum-quality reproduction, printed on canvas or fine art paper in a range of sizes, with a frame preview shown before you order.
