Description
Rather than a single composed scene, this sheet holds two small head studies set side by side on bare canvas. On the left, a child with reddish-brown hair looks out from beneath a white ruffled collar and a red garment; on the right, a second child in a coral-red top turns in profile, gazing toward the first. Renoir has signed his name in the open space between the two studies, leaving much of the canvas untouched.
Painted in 1895, Studies of Woman and Child can be reproduced as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival giclee canvas print, made to order in the size you choose and shipped ready to hang.
