Description
A mound of bright red strawberries, their leaves still attached, fills a white fluted bowl at the heart of this late still life. Renoir sets a second loose cluster of berries just to the right, with a single strawberry left apart on the pale cloth as if just picked. Behind the fruit, a dark reddish-brown ground makes the scarlet berries and white bowl glow even more intensely.
Painted in 1914 and now held at the Brooklyn Museum, Still Life with Strawberries can be reproduced as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival canvas print, made to order in the size you need and shipped ready to hang.
