Description
A cluster of red-roofed houses and a church tower nestle in a valley, framed between two gnarled olive trees whose dark branches curve across the foreground. Beyond the rooftops a hazy blue hill closes the view, the whole scene bathed in soft Mediterranean light.
Painted from a shaded hillside looking down onto a southern French village, the picture sets the cool blue green of the olive trees against the warm red and white of the houses below, a view Renoir returned to often after settling near Cagnes.
Reproduced as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival canvas print, in a range of sizes, framed or unframed.
