Description

A young woman sits on a white cloth spread over a rock, one knee drawn up and clasped in her hands, her bare foot propped on the stone beside her. She turns her head to gaze off to the side, dark hair pulled back simply, her pale skin rendered in soft, creamy strokes that catch a gentle rose blush at the cheeks and shoulder.

Around her, Renoir builds a loose, sun-warmed landscape of green and gold foliage, with a pale blue stretch of water and sky opening up in the background to the right.
