Description
Model from the Moulin de la Galette, painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1876, is a close portrait of a young woman in a red beret, her auburn hair loose beneath it. A pink shawl is draped over her shoulders above a white ruffled collar closed with a black ribbon choker.
The background is an almost abstract wash of bright yellow, broken by a patch of blue-green foliage at the upper left, so that the warm red of the hat and pink of the shawl seem to glow against it. The loose, rapid brushwork is characteristic of Renoir’s studies from the Moulin de la Galette years.
This work is offered as a museum-quality reproduction, printed on canvas or fine art paper in a range of sizes, with a frame preview shown before you order.
