Description
Head of a Young Woman is a profile portrait of a young woman with dark auburn hair swept up, a few loose curls escaping at her forehead. Her chin is lifted and her gaze directed upward and to the right, with rosy colour on her cheeks and lips and light falling across her nose and throat.
She wears a white off-the-shoulder garment that leaves her neck and shoulder bare. The background is split between a warm olive-green passage behind her hair and a cooler zone of pale blue and cream vertical brushstrokes near her face, suggesting light falling through a curtain or window.
Held at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, this work does not have recorded original dimensions in our records. We reproduce it as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival print, available in a range of sizes to suit any wall.
