Description
A nude woman with her auburn hair swept into a loose knot sits half turned away from the viewer, her face shown in profile as she glances down and to the side. Her right hand grips a pale cloth draped over the arm of a couch, while a cluster of red flowers rests on a golden cushion just behind her shoulder. Deep blue drapery is visible in the upper left corner, set against a warm backdrop of ochre and rust colored vertical brushstrokes.
The loose, warm handling of the flesh tones against this richly colored interior is characteristic of Renoir’s late work, painted in 1917 and now held by the Barnes Foundation.
This reproduction is available as a hand-painted oil copy on canvas or as an archival canvas print, made to order in a range of sizes and ready to hang.
