Description
A narrow path cuts through dense woodland, its bed scattered with fallen leaves in gold, rust and lilac, leading the eye away into a pool of soft, hazy light where the trees part. On either side the canopy closes in, layered trunks and branches rendered in overlapping dabs of green, ochre and deep violet shadow.
There are no figures to distract from the woods themselves; the subject is entirely the interplay of dappled sunlight filtering through leaves onto the path below, a study in broken color and the flicker of light through foliage typical of Renoir’s outdoor work of this period.
Choose a hand-painted oil reproduction or an archival canvas print of this forest path, made to order in the size you want and true to the proportions of the original canvas.
