Description
Saule au bord d’une mare is a quiet study of trees leaning over still water. A slender willow arches from the right, its thin branches trailing down toward a pond whose pale surface mirrors the surrounding trunks and greenery, while thicker, dark-barked trees crowd the edges of the composition.
Dated around 1874, the picture is built almost entirely in greens, browns and touches of white, with no figures to distract from the play of light through the leaves and its reflection in the water.
This landscape is reproduced as a hand-painted oil copy on canvas or as an archival canvas print, made to order in a range of sizes and delivered ready to hang.
