Description
Two women in bonnets sit in a bright orange rowboat drifting on the Seine, one holding an oar, while a small black dog stands at the edge of a wooden dock in the foreground watching them. A moored sailboat with its mast rigged in ropes fills the left side of the canvas, and the far bank is lined with trees turning shades of red and gold under a pale blue sky streaked with clouds.
Painted in 1888 and now held by the Barnes Foundation, this river scene measures 54 by 65 cm and captures the leisure of a day on the water near Argenteuil.
The Seine at Argenteuil is reproduced as a hand-painted oil copy on canvas or as an archival canvas print, made to order in the size you need and shipped ready to hang.
