Description
A young woman with dark hair pulled back sits in a garden, her head tilted thoughtfully to one side as she gazes out at the viewer. She wears a deep navy blue dress with a high, ruffled white lace collar and matching lace cuffs, one hand resting loosely in front of her.
Behind her, a dense mass of garden flowers, spots of red, white, and pink set among rich green foliage, is rendered in quick, broken touches of color that dissolve into abstraction the closer one looks, a hallmark of Renoir’s Impressionist technique in the 1870s.
The original is part of the collection of the Museum of Art and History, Geneva. What is offered here is a faithful reproduction: a hand-painted oil version on canvas, recreated stroke by stroke by a professional painter, or an archival canvas print made with fade-resistant pigment inks, available in a range of sizes from the original 65 by 54 cm format up to a larger wall feature.
