Description
A blue-and-white porcelain tureen is piled high with ripe peaches, their skins a mix of golden yellow and deep blush red, stacked into a small pyramid that catches the light unevenly across each fruit. Beside the bowl, bunches of green and dark purple grapes trail loosely across a white tablecloth, with a single stray grape rolled a little apart from the rest.
Renoir sets this warm mound of fruit against a cool, hazy blue-grey wall, letting the white cloth carry the strongest light in the composition. The peaches are built with thick, rounded strokes that give real weight and roundness to each fruit, while the grapes are touched in with looser, more transparent color, a study in how differently paint can describe different surfaces.
This sunlit fruit still life makes an inviting dining-room or kitchen piece: a made-to-order canvas print offered in a range of sizes up to large formats and shipped worldwide.
