Description
A field of tall golden grass fills most of the canvas, its blades rendered in quick, feathery strokes of yellow, ochre, and rose. Small figures walk a path near the middle distance, dwarfed by the meadow around them.
Beyond the grass, the river runs low along the horizon, with rooftops, trees, and a distant church spire sketched in soft purples and greens under a wide, cloud-filled sky. The composition gives the meadow far more weight than the town, turning an ordinary riverside walk into a study of light on grass.
This view of Rueil is available as a hand-painted oil reproduction or an archival canvas print, made to order in your chosen size and true to the original’s proportions, 37.5 by 65.7 centimeters, held by the Wallraf-Richartz Museum.
