A couple sits close together beneath overhanging leaves, the whole scene bathed in cool blues and greens. The woman, in a pale blue dress with a blue ribbon at her throat and her fair hair swept up, leans into the man beside her, who wears a dark brown coat and turns his face toward her. Their hands meet gently at the center of the canvas.
