Description

A wide sweep of wild hillside vegetation, thick with green and gold-flowering shrubs, fills most of this view over Cagnes. No figures interrupt the scene; the eye moves instead across layered brushstrokes of scrub and blossom toward the horizon.

In the middle distance, a small hillside village of white and pink houses nestles among rolling hills, its rooftops just visible above the bushes. Soft clouds drift across a pale blue sky, and the whole composition favors the untamed foreground over the distant town.
