Description
A steep, wild ravine cuts through the canvas, its slopes covered in dense scrub painted in burnt orange, rust, and umber. No figures appear here, only rock and vegetation catching the strong North African light.
In the foreground, spiky agave leaves rise in silvery blue-green blades, their sharp forms contrasting with the soft, smoky masses of shrubs behind them. A pale, hazy sky is visible only in a narrow strip at the top of the composition, intensifying the sense of being enclosed within the ravine.
This Algerian landscape is offered as a hand-painted oil reproduction or an archival canvas print, made to order at the size you choose and true to the original’s proportions, 65.5 by 81 centimeters, held at the Musee d’Orsay.
