Description
A tall, cylindrical vase glazed in blue and white with a painted leaf pattern holds an abundant, tumbling arrangement of deep red anemones, blush pink roses, and creamy yellow-white roses, with a spray of small white daisies rising above the rest. Several stems droop over the rim, their heavy blooms hanging almost to the tabletop.
Renoir sets the bouquet against a wall divided into cool violet-blue on the left and warm ochre-brown on the right, with the vase resting on a red-toned table that echoes the deepest tones in the flowers. The anemones’ near-black centers give the arrangement its punctuation, dark accents scattered through an otherwise soft mass of pink, cream, and crimson petals built up in thick, layered strokes.
This richly colored bouquet, Anemones and Roses, is offered as a made-to-order canvas reproduction in a range of sizes up to large formats, shipped worldwide.
