Description
A lavish bouquet of red dahlias, pink roses, yellow blooms, and dark pansies spills out in every direction from a painted ceramic vase. The vase itself is a small artwork in its own right, decorated with blue and orange scrollwork and a round medallion showing the profile of a fair-haired child’s head. Behind the flowers, the wall is split between a warm russet-brown on the left and a cooler blue-grey on the right, and a loose peony bud rests on the table in front of the vase.
Renoir piles the flowers thick and high, red, pink, yellow, and white blooms crowding together in short, energetic strokes, so the medallion on the vase peeks out from beneath the stems like a small portrait within the still life.
Available as a hand-painted oil reproduction on canvas or as an archival canvas print, made to order in the size of your choice.
